Arval Staff Receive Driver Training from the AA As They Launch Their New and Improved Workshops
Arval staff receive driver training from the AA as they launch their new and improved workshops
January 22, 2009 (FPRC) -- Staff from Arval, Europe’s leading fleet and fuel management company, were the first to receive the latest driver training from the AA as they launch their new and improved workshops which combine a mix of theory and practical training.
Arval has worked in partnership with the AA to develop and tailor the training which took around three months to refine and has been accredited by the DSA. Arval staff are taking part in the new training which is to be rolled out by both organisations to their customers.
The workshops are taking place at Arval’s offices in both Swindon and Birmingham and are expected to provide staff with useful information to reduce the chances that they will be involved in an accident.
Arval own, manage or provide fuel to over 1 million vehicles travelling on the UK’s roads and view it as their responsibility to help make road travel safer for everyone. As a consequence the company utilises driver training on a regular basis.
Tracey Young, fleet manager at Arval, explains,
'We are committed to road safety and we want to encourage all of our staff to take road safety seriously. Education and awareness is a key factor to help improve road safety which is why driver training is so important. By combining a mix of theory and practise we can ensure that important messages get through to drivers.'
Paul Holmes, the AA’s Head of Risk Management, said,
'During the development of this programme the AA has worked very closely with Arval and other existing customers, both large and small, to ensure customer feedback was included within the re-engineering of the AA driver training modules.'
'Going forward the AA will be working closely with Arval to ensure a process of continual improvement is delivered. This approach will assist in the core objective of this training programme, which is to enhance the driving skills of all drivers’ who take part in the training and therefore help them become both safer and more efficient motorists.'
