Environmental Developments to the GCC Region Are Discussed in Jeddah from 6 to 8 March 2011

DirectRooms.com reports that representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will be meeting in Jeddah for a major conference and exhibition to outline key issues in making the area more environmentally sustainable

January 18, 2011 (FPRC) -- Gulf Environment Forum (GEF) 2011 will consist of leading companies in the supply of sustainable energy combined with the prominent authorities from the area who will be meeting to discuss ways to take each of the countries forward environmentally.

Areas being covered at the event will look at methods that can be implemented to produce clean and renewable energy in a bid to reach the region’s target of producing 7-10% of electricity from renewables by 2020. Experts will also be presenting methods to manage waste especially in respect to hazardous materials and reducing emissions from the industrial sector.

Attendees to the conference can also hear from ministers and other major authorities about opportunities and challenges to the planned programme for the environmental development of the GCC region. Exhibitors will be hoping to meet these needs and be part of some of the $32.6 billion that is injected into projects for renewable energy in Arab countries.

Visitors to the show will be booking a Jeddah hotel around the Jeddah Hilton Hotel when the meeting takes place from 6th to 8th March 2011.
