April 15, 2013 (FPRC) -- Red Bank, N.J. - Robert Tuzzo, CEO and owner of Total Financial Concepts Inc., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Jazz Arts Project, the Red Bank N.J. non-profit organization. Mr. Tuzzo has been a long time supporter of the Jazz Arts Project and while he is indeed financial industry professional, he is also a lifelong musician and avid supporter of the arts in New Jersey. In his new role he hopes to further assist the group in their stated mission to, "preserve, promote and perpetuate the American musical art form known as jazz."
Tuzzo's musical career started when he was just ten years old, an early start that would eventually find the singer and drummer playing in some of the hottest nightclubs in New Jersey. From 1972 through 1985 Bob his popular trio, FDR Drive, shared the same bill in variety shows and concerts with legendary bands such as The Belmonts, Gary U.S. Bonds, The Dovells and the Shirelles.
In 1985, Bob left FDR Drive to focus on his career and to devote 100% of his time to the financial services industry. He is now the owner and CEO of Total Financial Concepts, Inc., an integrated financial planning services firm located in Edison, N.J. However, while you be right in thinking that Bob Tuzzo is the first person to call if you need a disability insurance quote, he never let music slip too far from his grasp. Over the years he has worked closely with the board of the Jazz Arts Project so it was no surprise when they recently asked Bob if he would consider joining them; an invitation that he enthusiastically accepted.
In commenting on being appointed to the board of the Jazz Arts Project Bob said, ""I hope to bring new and fresh ideas to the organization that will help us continue to nurture the rising talent of young students interested in jazz." He continued saying, "I am very excited to be part of the Jazz Arts Project's board of directors. This will allow me to utilize my experience in the financial services industry to help grow the financial health of the organization which will ultimately perpetuate and reignite interest in this wonderful art form."
The Jazz Arts Project is instrumental in introducing jazz music to young students. They hold educational workshops and special programs designed especially for young students, many of whom have never seen or held a musical instrument. Jazz Arts Projects camps teach youngsters about music and get them interested in jazz in the hopes that their appreciation will help to preserve and grow this great American art form and captivate their interest for years to come.
