March 25, 2014 (FPRC) -- Lelobooks announces the addition of the new release book, the biography of the legendary figure from Bollywood, Waheeda Rahman by a renowned author Nasreen Munny Kabir. The author has written "Conversations with Waheeda Rehman", fairly providing an extraordinary view of the National Award-winning expert actress's life. It is set to hit the stands soon. The book is inscription of life of the veteran actress; Waheeda whose career spans about six decades is acknowledged for her acting and speechless beauty and has been published by Penguin. This engaging book talks about the experiences of Waheeda’s life and work with bracing honesty, humor and provides an insight about the shocking loss of her parents during the commencement of her career along with a shrewd description of working with some of the distinguished people from the film industry such as Guru Dutt, Raj Khosla, Satyajit Ray, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand and Vijay Anand and talks about her friendship with Nargis and Nanda.
The author is a London-based documentary filmmaker and is also a television producer, recognized for producing an annual season of Indian films for the British terrestrial television channel Channel 4. To her credits, this multi-talented figure has done a lot of work and contributed to the industry with Movie Mahal, How to make it Big in Bollywood and In Search of Guru Dutt and has released a book titled A.R. Rahman: The Spirit of Music in 2011.
Lamenting over the dearth of Bollywood biographies Nasreen says, “We sadly lack a self-assessment culture in the Indian movie industry. How many autobiographies on film personalities have come out in last decade? Not too many, I’m afraid. Dev Anand Saab wrote an autobiography. But the other iconic actors of his generation never did. I believe Rishi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor are writing out their stories with the help of journalists. But that isn’t enough. We need so much more authoritative information on Indian cinema’s icons. When I go on the internet I see a lot of visual footage on some of our greats like Rafi Saab, MukeshSaab, Kishore Kumar Saab and Lataji in old concerts. The visuals are fuzzy. But at least they are there. I see hardly any print interviews with many of the legendary figures. It is really sad.”
