Caroar. A New Breed of Career Search Tool Has Arrived.
Described by the development team as “the way we would naturally go about finding a job we love”, Caroar emulates the water-cooler discussions about our colleagues career progression and uses this to our advantage. The online app allows users to access a large database of careers and find those who have had real success in finding their ideal job from a similar starting point in skills, qualifications and experience.

March 31st, 2014 (London, UK) - A new breed of career search tool has been launched by the team at tech startup Caroar. They're taking a novel approach to finding us a great career and work lifestyle by analysing real career data from thousands of users. Intelligent algorithms match common points in the user's career with those who have managed to achieve the kind of rewarding and satisfying jobs so many of us are looking for. Whether it be an eye-watering salary, great flexibility, lending a helping hand or jet-setting around the world, the web app returns a list of possible paths to a new career. The beauty of the system is that achieving these goals is always realistic as the suggestions are based on real careers and can even show how the transition was made between roles.
The team behind Caroar come from a diverse technical background of aerospace engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence and programming. Their search technology is therefore cutting-edge and the data used is real taken from the careers of a growing community of employees, managers, students, entrepreneurs and more.
When asked about the motivations behind the startup, Ed Laurence from the Caroar development team stated: “Caroar was born out of our own frustration with the lack of information available to those planning their careers. Not all of us know what we want to be when we grow up and often we don't even realise just how many opportunities exist for us. We thought it'd be great if you could benefit from the wisdom of all of those people who have worked successful, satisfying careers and see just how they did it since our work and purpose is such an important part of our life. That's where we're coming from with Caroar.”
Plans for the philanthropic career advisory site extend far beyond the initial launch functionality and aim to give everybody a real insight into how their careers could take them in directions they never thought possible.
