June 13, 2016 (FPRC) --
The event, which took place in Brentwood, Essex on Saturday 14th May, consisted of a tough 6k obstacle race over varied terrain packed with a lot of mud.
Installations Manager Luke took part in the race to raise money for the Amy May Trust, which was set up to support the ongoing recovery of his friend in the wake of a life-changing event which resulted in Amy sustaining a severe brain injury. Luke’s fundraising page can be found here.
Luke successfully completed the race in position 18th out of 1500 participants and in an impressive time of 1:23:42.
“I found the race a little easier than I expected,” says Luke.
“I think the amount of training and weight I lost over the last 6 months really made the difference. I was very surprised to come 18th out of over 1500 runners, but I’m planning on beating that next time!”
Also taking part in the Nuclear Race was Viki, who works in administration support at Project Skills Solutions.
Viki took part in the race to raise money for the organisation Cure Rett. Rett Syndrome is a rare condition that affects the development of the brain beginning in early childhood.
Viki also did extremely well and beat her target time for the race. Viki’s Just Giving page can be found here.
The entire team at Project Skills Solutions are very proud of staff’s achievements and efforts to raise money for their chosen charities and will continue to support them in any similar future ventures.
